Marquis® and Make-A-Wish® partner to grant 1000th wish
Seattle, Washington, USA— April 1, 2022—Haiden was born with epilepsy which limits his mobility. Heated water offers him freedom of movement, and always brings a smile to his face. Thanks to the combined efforts of Make-A-Wish® Alaska and Washington, Marquis® Hot Tubs, and local retailer Seattle Hot Tub, Haiden’s wish has been granted.
According to Ryan, Haiden’s father, a hot tub made perfect sense. “We knew with the hot tub that Haiden would spend every day in there, for as much time as he could get. The idea that Make-A-Wish partners with people like Marquis, and figures out how to make something special for each child, is incredibly valuable. This will make Haiden’s life better, and is something he will enjoy for years to come.”
Haiden’s wish marks a historic milestone: one thousand wishes granted by Marquis and Make-A-Wish since their partnership began. First inspired by Andrea’s wish for a hot tub back in 2000, the partnership has since generated more than $6.8 million in donations and discounts to Make-A-Wish® America, Make-A-Wish® Canada, and Make-A-Wish® United Kingdom. Thanks to wish kids like Andrea and Haiden, Marquis remains committed to giving exceptional hydrotherapy to children with critical illnesses.
“We are thankful and thrilled to be celebrating one thousand wishes and 22-years of partnership with Marquis,” said LuAnn Bott, vice president of revenue partnerships and services at Make-A-Wish America. “A wish experience can be a turning point for a child battling a critical illness, giving them the strength needed to fight, and often overcome, their illness. It’s because of partners like Marquis that we can continue to transform lives, one wish at a time.”
Sam Collins, president of Marquis, expressed similar appreciation. “The Make-A-Wish partnership continues to inspire our employees and the local Marquis Dealers who help to fulfill hot tub wishes,” said Collins. “It’s our privilege to celebrate this milestone with Haiden and his family, and we look forward to fulfilling many more wishes in the years ahead.”
After Haiden’s hot tub was handcrafted by Marquis, local retailer Seattle Hot Tub donated its time and labor to ensure a smooth delivery and installation experience. “Obviously, this is a huge honor for us,” said company president Nelson Bryant. “But, at the same time, there were 999 wishes before this that made a huge impact on children’s lives. A lot of work goes into the logistics, and every wish takes a team of people to fulfill, but it's so very worth it! Most of our team have families and children of their own, so fulfilling hot tub wishes really hits home. Best of all, we have built a special bond with Haiden’s family.”
In celebration of the 1000th wish, Marquis introduced a new version of its aptly-named “Wish” model. The new design includes advanced therapy features exclusive to its flagship Crown Collection. During the month of April, Marquis is offering $1,000 off the Wish hot tub at participating dealers. In addition, for each Wish model sold in April, Marquis will donate $100 to local Make-A-Wish chapters in North America. For details, visit: marquisspas.com/in-the-spirit-of-a-wish.
The month of April has extra-special significance for Make-A-Wish, as they celebrate World Wish Day on April 29th in honor of their founding wish 42 years ago. This annual celebration highlights the more than 500,000 wishes granted around the globe to date, and the hope it restores for wish kids, families, and local communities.
